Located in the Central Coast area of California lies a true paradise known as Grover Beach. A small city with 13,000 residents, Grover Beach provides a unique quality of life to those who call it home. A perfect spot for young families or recent retirees, it offers a variety of cultural, educational, and entertainment options for any age. With its combination of rolling hills and white sandy beaches, Grover Beach is one of California's hidden treasures.
Located slightly less than 100 miles from Santa Barbara, Grover Beach is also quite the tourist attraction. Drawing more than one million visitors annually, the city offers a multitude of recreational opportunities. Some of the most popular include off-road vehicle riding, dune hiking, horseback riding, golfing, fishing, wine tasting, and numerous other activities. In addition to these activities, the city provides families with ample opportunities to raise their children in an area that is safe, secure, and filled with some of the state's best schools. In addition to this, residents can take advantage of Amtrak rail service as well as public transit service that can take them to San Diego, Los Angeles, Ventura, Santa Barbara, and many other nearby cities.
When it comes to local attractions, Grover Beach is knows statewide for having some of the best. Among these is Skate Park, a facility measuring more than 13,000 square feet and recognized for its state-of-the-art designs for skateboarders and in-line skaters. Open daily until sunset, it's free to the public and provides an unparalleled outdoor arena for skateboarders and in-line skaters to showcase their talents. Of course, at the end of the day there's no doubt you want to go where everybody knows your name. When you're in Grover Beach, that place is Mongo's Saloon. Known as the best place for locals to hang out and relax, Mongo's has been recognized for its friendly atmosphere and great food, drinks, and entertainment. But if you're more in the mood for a change of pace, you can go to Monarch Grove Winery and enjoy a day of wine-tasting and camaraderie with other fellow taste testers.
